I've been googling this topic for hours now, and what information I've found has been conflicting, unclear, otherwise not applicable or so badly written that it's indecipherable.
The situation is very simple. I've got the following:
- an ISO image of Rock Band, 8.2GB
- a DVD+R DL burner
- a couple of empty DVD+R DL discs
- a PSTwo with a Matrix Infinity modchip, which should have DVD9 support built-in.
All I want to do is to burn a dual-layer DVD+R from the ISO, no DVD5 resizing or anything fancy. I've checked the ISO with Apache3, and extracted the contents of both layers just for testing's sake. The ISO seems fine.
Can I just burn the image with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn without any extra steps? Toxic patching shouldn't be necessary thanks to the DVD9 support of the modchip, is this correct? Do I have to do some CD/DVDGEN or IML2ISO magic, or layer breakpoint tweaking, or something else besides just burning the ISO file? If so, please be detailed on what I have to do.
I want to avoid producing expensive coasters, so I hope someone here can answer these questions once and for all. Thanks in advance.
you've pretty much answered all your questions here, straight burn with dvd decrypter should be fine since you have a matrix, toxic patcher is only needed for the older mods.
Yep, I did the burn successfully yesterday. Hadn't seen your reply yet, thought I'd risk it since I had a spare DVD+R laying around anyway. Still, thanks for the confirmation.
