I don?t think you can do it unless you have linix installed on one of the boxes. BoXplorer will not use FTP.

I've been using a program called xbox FTP client... IMHO it ain't that great cos it seems to drop out a lot and you can't make multiple selections (ie. 3 different games) to copy across, but it can be a starter...
I've been trying for the life of me to find a better FTP program between two xboxs and I can't find diddly squat.

The best program you can use to FTP into your xbox is FlashFXP. You can download it at download.com (its not an illegal program, so dont think im stupid for posting the link). If you need any more help let me know. Also yuo can go to http://www.xbox-scene.com/tutorials.php to get help on how to ftp into your xbox. Step-by-Step instructions.

I read that Avalaunch supports Passive uploading/downloads which EVO-X at the moment doesn't. Not sure about anything else but this.

I would like to use the xbox ftp client, but the background is black and grey and the font is black so I can barely see what Im looking at. is it possible to open a third session in flash fxp in order to use the PC as a middle man. to me that would be the easist thing to do if its possible, especially have the keyboard in all.

If you go down the bottom of the menu (Hard to see I know) there is an options option.
Select that and it is possible to change the colours of the text and background.
This program works although, I've had it crash on me a couple of times. Still learning it though but its ok

yeah xbox ftp client works OK for smaller games - or games with small amounts of files - but you try copying some of those damn star wars series games (we're looking around 14000 - 15000 files) and NOOOOOO WAY will you be wanting to use this ftp program!! If it doesn't just drop out on you, the transfer rate will slow RIGHT DOWN to 600 kbps (as opposed to 7000 - 9000 kbps for other games) and you'll sit there staring at it in disbelief...
Then you'll start hurling insults at either the ftp program or at lucas arts... I did both... mostly towards lucas arts though cos they make games with SOOOOOOOOOO many damn files... not too much towards the ftp program cos i respect the guys who are out there making these things and making our lives much easier... well there is my whinge for the day...

The best way is to use xbox media player 2.4. It transfers on average 10gb an hour for me. All you need to do is install it on both systems and hook them into your router. Launch xbmp and connect to them both using flash fxp. Then it is only a matter of drag and drop. I have 2 and I have found this to be the easiest and best solution. Any confusion using xbmp just look online for the manual. Also you dont need to worry about entering a certain screen or configuring if you have a DHCP connection just look under setting at each xbox's ip. Xbmp works like evox dashboard no need for special configuration and you can connect to your xbox in passive mode(allows for xbox to xbox transfer without using your computer to direct the traffic) as long as xbmp is running.

Ok I screwed up on my other 2 threads so now I will make it up. The BEST way to connect xbox to xbox is to install avalaunch on them both. Then change your network settings which is located under settings. Just make sure you assign each xbox a different Ip address. Then connect a crossover cable between them and RESTART them. The restart is nessesary for avalaunch to recognize your ip changes and to "see" each other is connected. Then simply go to the file manager and hit the start button. Select remote connection. You should see the other xbox listed in the window. The layout is similar to boxplorer so its not hard to transfer files from one xbox to another. Place the files you want into the que and when your ready transfer.

Will it be that easy to link up?
Friend of mine who just got his box chipped has avalaunch on there and I ganked it the other day. So next time we link up I'll give it a whack and see how it goes...
It is true bout the rebooting to see a new IP addy. With any program methinks...

Its simple as pie to do as long as you are familiar with boxplorer you should have no problems with the transfer. Its pretty fast, you can copy a game in under 10 minutes.

teedo757 - maybe you can help here

I really want to be able to use FlashFXP between Xbox's. However, whenever I try to log into one of my Xbox's (they are in XBMP - the latest build) I get a login error (see below).

Playing around with FileZilla Server.xml is not doing me any good. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!!

Here is the error:

I am pretty sure the problem is with xbmp! I have has the exact same problem and never resolved it. I even reinstalled xbmp onto my xbox and it still didn't work. It might be flash fxp but I highly doubt it since it works with evox and I have had it work with xbmp and then it didn't and I never changed my flash fxp settings. Anyways here is a great solution I used. I switched to the Avalaunch dashboard. The user interface is less cluncky compared to evox plus it supports file sharing from xbox to xbox. NO COMPUTER NEEDED. As long as both xbox's are running avalaunch you can just plug in a crossover cable(xbox system link cable) between them and copy and move files. It transfers a little faster then when using xbmp. The file manager looks very similar to boxplorer(easy to use). Also when you scroll through your games with avalaunch it shows a pretty picture of the game :-) I think the latest version of avalaunch is 0.48.4. Its a great dashboard and easy to switch from evox to avalaunch.
