Wiikey Modded Wii Having Trouble Playing Original Wii Games

I modded my Wii myself about three months ago and just recently I've been noticing that my Wii is having some troubles loading original games (not backups). For instance, the other day I popped in my original copy of Warioware while the Wii was on and it kept giving me the "cannot read disc" error. I finally hit restart on the Wii and Warioware loaded up. I've noticed that if I'm first powering on the Wii or restarting with an original game in the drive, it seems to work, but if I insert an original game while the Wii is on... nothing. So basically everything is working peachy fine with backup games, but originals are giving me trouble. Anyone else running into this problem and if so does anyone have any idea why?
