i just have a little question. if i were to backup or have offical game disc form europe using PAL format whould it work with USA PS2 using swapmagic. could you please tell me which version of swapmagic i would need.

Some PAL games work fine backed up on a USA PS2, and some don't.
Read this thread to guide you. It was updated last October.
And you could use SM 3.6 or SM 3.8 coder.
I myself like the PAL games that have the screen adjustment option in them or the 50/60 hz selector when booting them up.
