I installed a WiiKey, looks decent... Can I do a D2C?

How much more difficult is it to do a D2C install vs D2B (not cut)?

I noted there are considerably more wires on D2C, but with the "miss a leg" chips, it doesn't seem to bad to solder those. Can anyone advise me here? I modded my Wii a few months ago and my friend finally got a Wii, obviously D2C so now he wants it modded. =X
