i have flashed the said drive in the past.
it is in mode b using slax but when i try to smart hack patych in firmware toolbox 3/4/4.6 i get the said arrive.
i have 6421a card with latest drivers installed.
the xbox has just come back from 3 red light fix.

Make sure you DIDNT install the cards RAID drivers and if you did,DISABLE it in your pcs BIOS.Can you tell me if the 360 was an elite or not because ive been wanting to flash mine and due to this site

....it said that an elite of my type had a 79 drive and I dont like that.If my advice didnt work then I dont know whats wrong Ive seen people get this error when i google searched the problem.You should look for people with the same problems on google searches.(HELPS ALOT!)
I just hope when I open my xbox 360 (elite),its a v78 drive if its not,I cant do anything and have to close it back up.Man bad luck for me and good luck for you..heres a site with your problem..(rather a forum post)

fixed it peeps.
did a full install on an old 20 gig hard drive i had laying around and just installed .net framework 2,,,,,swapped it 4 my normal hard drive and bingo flashed like a demon so it must be windows.
my comp had all the updates installed and would not flash it but about 14 months ago i did the same drive and others and it flashed flawlessly.
thanks to everything for their help in this matter.

Yah you just reminded me of that.Some people had problems because they didnt have Framework 2.0 or higher and theyre FW toolbox wasnt working.
At least you flashed yours.
