I am new to this forum as well as this whole modding thing. I bought my Wii about 6 or more months ago and immediately got it modded. I believe the person who modded it put in a Wiikey. Everything was working fine, but honestly I didn't know the difference between a game in PAL or NTSC version, so I would grab whatever game I could and played it. I noticed that some games did not work fine so I got a region converter, but I believe the games were in PAL form, so I simply set the region on the ISO to USA since that is where I live. When I downloaded Super Mario Galaxy (PAL version) the game updated my system and then did not work until I put in the Wiikey 1.9g fix, but after that when I go to my Wii settings I get the Opera Help screen and cannot get into my Wii settings menu.
I have been reading all the research on this as I can and it seems that if I find a game that has a higher firmware/system update higher than the one that messed up my system that it would fix the problem and i would be able to get into the system settings again. I downloaded Super Mario Galaxy NTSC version and played the disk, but there was no system upgrade this time, which I am assuming is because it already updated with the first SMG PAL version I played.
Can anyone help me figure out what to do next? I can play all the downloaded games no problem, and I have stuck now to only getting NTSC-USA games, since I was not paying attention before.
