It does but only at a certain profile.
Use YAMB to extract the video stream to RAWAVC then run it through H264Info at 4.1.
Use Yamb again to extract the audio file, then with the file created from H264Info remux it with the audio stream again, using Yamb.

Sudds, how do you know that the video is AVC (h264)? It could be mpeg4 ASP. The mp4 container can handle both these compression formats.
Just to clarify, mpeg4 ASP is basically DivX, Xvid, 3ivx etc.
Now here is the weird thing, mpeg4 ASP in an avi container plays fine on the PS3 but as soon as it's in a mp4 container it wont play. I think it has something to do with the licensing of the DivXcodec. As we already know there is a 2gb limit placed on DivX files, maybe they requested that the codec can only be accessed via avi files too.
Q8love, if you can answer the following questions for me, we could advise the best option to make it compatible with the PS3...
1) What format is the audio? Is it AAC? Is it 2 channel or 6 (5.1) channel?
2) Can you tell me if the video is AVC (h264) or mpeg4 ASP (YAMB can identify this)?
3) Can you tell me the file size?
I suppose i took it for granted that anyone encoding to MP4 would use AVC instead of SP.
I apoligise.
If he/she can tell us what streams are contained within the file, then as you say we will know alot more and offer better solutions.
