Hi there, I am aware tht wen u are burning you should not use ur computer at the same time because it could affect ur results. What im not sure about is if when encoding avi files to dvd format via convertxtodvd or other program, if using the computer at the same time will affect ur results???????

I do this all the time with no ill effects, Just go to Task Manager>processes and lower the priority of ConvertXtoDVD or whatever converting program so you can use your computer.

same here, no ill effects; i sometimes even run DVD Rebuilder (HC encoder) alongside ConvertXtoDVD and DVD Flick when i've got loads to do; i am running on a Quad Core though;

i'd always multitasked during encoding/transcoding on slower machines, it was only ever burning where i wouldn't multitask (even multitasking during is now possible on the Quad). In fact i'm now watching my Metallica S&M concert DVD (that i'd got sat on one of my hard drives) across the network on the xbox during burning a few DVD's
