ripping question

i used dvd shrink to back up my movie to my HDD.
the movie is 1 part of the Band of Brothers series.
each dvd has 2 episodes on it. after i backed up the
first disc, i played it and noticed that it only
backed up the first movie and not the two that are on
the disc.
i figure when i back up the dvd i would also have the
dvd's menu, but it's not there.
anyway of getting them both onto one disc? or even
better yet, how do i get the orignial dvd's menu to
display on the back up dvd?

i believe my problem lies with DVD2one after i
compress the VIDEO_TS folder.
some how, i think its cutting the menu's out.
anyway way of getting around this?

ran into the same problem with the law and order series..i had to use DVD Decrypter and under edit i selected, select all..then once it was ripped to my hd i then used DVD Shrink to do the rest..

wait, DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter do the same thing..
so you say you used Decrypter first and then Shrink to finish the rest.
i dont get it. cause once you rip it once to your HDD, how did you use Shrink to finish the rest?
thanks for your help. if you can, explain step by step.

ok.. so if i rip it once with Decrypter then how do i rip the rest of it with Shrink?
cause when you rip the dvd, it rips the whole thing, no? so if i rip it once prior, how do i rip it the second time around? or as it was put, rip the "rest" of the dvd?

you only need DVD Shrink to rip and compress. open DVD Shrink and open you dvd disc. Then compress the various parts until it will fit onto dvd. As long as you don't reauthor, all the menus will work and you will have all the movies.

the only option i see is to set the different compression levels in DVD Shrink.
So how do i compress various parts of the movie?

sounds like you have an older version of dvd shrink. download 3.0 beta 5 from this site. Actually, 3.1 is out now.
