Hey I'm looking for a guide for installing a disabling switch for the wiikey. I read somewhere that installing a disable switch allows the retail SSMB to be played on a wiikey system. Unfortunately, I can't find a guide anywhere on how to do this.

I checked the "Wii Firmware Updates, Wii and WiiKey Resources" thread. The last post on the first page of the thread says the op added a link to such a tutorial, but I couldn't find it. Maybe I'm just blind?

Anyway, can anyone add some insight to this?

I guess you could wire up a switch which disconnected the vcc line when switched. That should provide the desired effect.

The vcc connection is the hole-through connection farthest from the chip on the wii-key. You can see the full pin-out in this picture here:

My biggest concern would be providing access to said switch without defacing the beautiful aesthetics of the wii.

Hi my wiikey is installed usin four wires and two solder poionts. The two holes are filled with solder and connected directly to the board (it seems). I am pretty good with wiring and know exactly where I can put a switch on the wii without really defacing it.

Is there any way for moe to put a switch on it?

Any help would really be appreciated
