this is continued from the origional thread here

im starthing it again because it is a good idea and if it does work there will no longer be any need to solder or buy boot disks...

these are the two most important posts and if anybody can i need some ideas im all out for now
=====================================================================
thats true but if there is a spot on the CD that determines weather its write protected or not if i were to cover that with very thin tape it could be possible to format them and then writte a new ps2 game on to that cd and if we did that there would be no need at all for mod chips or boot disks
=====================================================================
ok i found that when i tried to format it with the vista command prompt that the file system of that CD (Cabelas Trophy Bucks) was UDF (Universal Disk Format) however i have tried 3 other games with this and i got this...

cabelas trophy bucks: - UDF file system - DVD ROM
Smugglers Run (first game in series): - RAW file system - CD-R or DVD
and
Silent Hill 4 The Room: - Also UDF file system -
and for now im guessing that UDF is the file system for most ps2 CD's
and the UDF file system is the default file system for formating(when you format a blank cd you get the UDF file system) so now i can format a cd to that i just need to figure out how to get the ps2 to read it and have it boot as soon as it reads.... any ideas
=====================================================================
and today i made a backup of one of my games and then i put the origional game cd into my ps2 and when it booted to the "playstation 2" logo screen i put in the backup disk and it loaded the title menu of the game!! but then it froze when i clicked start : ( so this almost proves that the ps2 can load backups without a mod or swap disk but you will have to rename the slus 123.45.67 <<< example)))file to whatever it says on the base cd>>\example\> when you put a ps2 cd into a computer it has a bunch of files and then a slus or scus file copy the name of that file and paste it to the name of the file like that on your backup cd so that it loads if you dont understand this than oh well i cant explain it any better if i could i would though if you dont do thiis it wont load and even if you do it right it still might not work because you got to switch the cd's at the perfict time or it wont work can not get past menu anyway
