Hey everyone!

I have V15 slim PS2 and would like to mod it to play backups! I would like to know what mod chip should I get and also I would like to play games off the USB external Hard Drive.

Please give me some advice.

Thank you!

Check this link out for running games off a USB HD.

As for which chip to get, I can recommend Crystal Chip, Matrix Infinity, DMS4 Pro, Duo 3 Ultra.

modchipcentral is a good place to get chips right now. I recently ordered 2x duo 3 ultra from mod-chip.bz
Got my order in about 2 weeks though. They did ship from thailand though. modchipcentral is based in canada.

The only thing I don't like about memor32 is that you have to patch all your backups before you burn them.

However, this isn't good for people who already have burned quite a bit of backups. They won't work as they haven't been patched to work with memor32. So all those people would have to reburn (and patch) the backups they already have.

Edit: also it is rather expensive

That may be true, but chips are just so much more reliable. I'm all for soft mods (Swapmagic, Independece Exploit, Memor32). That is how I started out myself. Though once you get a chip installed, it's a bit hard to go back to soft mods.
