Just got a PSP Slim (3.72) for my bday. I read many of the guides on the site but have some very basic questions im sure one of the experts here can assist with. I want to be able to play backed up games so as not to have to carry a stack of UMDs around... Anyway, here goes:
a) in order to downgrade the firmware, do I need a Pandora Battery / HB cap. PSP?
b) aside from the firmware downgrade, it seems that there is nothing else involved in playing backed up games aside from folder assignments. My PS1 & PS2 both required a physical jumper chip to be sauldered onto the MB of the unit so I feel like I missed something somewhere...

Correct - You will need a pandora Battery and a MMS to d/g to CFW.
So you either need to Hard mod a Slim battery, borrow a pandora battery from someone or Buy a datel battery. All this information is stickied here.
To create the MMS is a little easier as it can all be PC based.
PsP#1 : 2.01>3.71M33-4>3.80 M33-5
PsP#2 (Slim) : 3.80>3.90M33-2 All hail the UPMS Stck
If you need a UPMS Stick go here and then go here :-) *As recommended by January39
