hey guys, i have been burning for many many years and have recently bought a sony DRU 840A. good drive but it only writes at 6x max and i know its capable of 20x with a cable and normally, it should burn at 16x, but no matter what i do, i cant get it to actually perform at these speeds. it allows me to change the write speed but when it actually burns, its no more than 6x or 7x. how in the hell do i change this??!!!! its less than three months old. i use tdk dvd-r media. i bought this burner so i could write faster with good quality and it works fine as far as quality but it takes forever (about an hour and fifteen minutes to burn a 90minute movie and about 12 minutes for a cd). please help!!!!
