hello again people!
firstly, u guys all seem to be pretty hot when it comes to helpin out so here is my newest question, and please bare in mine, i got my ps3 on launch day, so i only have 12 days till my 1 year warrenty runs out, that said, here is my problem.....
i get a lot of movies files and play them on my ps3, some of them are divx, mp4, mpeg2 and lately m2ts, but my problem now is the ps3 is starting to "play up" and not do things propperly.
i tried copying a hd mpg video from a data dvd to the hdd, which i have done before with this exact same file and got the error message "8003051E", now i have already google'd this code and it says "game will not saved" but i am not doing anything with a game, i have also had the error with a 7.8gb .m2ts video file.
so i thought i would just watch the video off the disc, all going fine (understand i am watching a kids film with my 4 year old son) when all of a sudden i get "corrupted data" flash up, not good for my son.
now i know this file works, i have had it on the hdd before, played it on the disc before, and copied it from the disc to the hdd before.....
if anyone can help then please do, like i said, it this is a fault with the ps3 then i only have 12 days to get on to sony and get it sorted!!!!!
It's definitely not the PS3's fault. Most likely something wrong with decoding the video or something. For example, I sometimes get a corrupt data when viewing stuff from my media server. It's really nothing wrong with the PS3, just somewhat of an incompatibility and a nuisance. You're experiencing the same crap that everyone does. No worries.
i tryed to play it off the disc, after a while i got curropted data.
i tried copying it from the dis to the ps3 hdd, 33%, go the error code.
i put the disc into my computer and used a media server to copy the file to my ps3 hdd, all worked fine and watched the film with no problems!
this says to me a read error with the drive.
i tried a few other too and didnt get any troubleswith them, just one of my older films and the latest i have done!
It definitely could be a drive read error then. I wouldn't be so hasty as to return the PS3 though. If your games play fine and other movies play fine, perhaps it's just the disc works well on computer but is sketch on your PS3 for some reason.
