Has the WiiKey team gone down? I have noticed that there website has been down for quite some time, but then again I still see the WiiKey available at reasonable prices.

If they have stopped supporting it may not be such a bad thing. Maybe the community can start firmware updating it themselves.

They said they took the site down due to attacks and what not.

WiiNewz is now thier 'official' home from home I think.

Offically, the wiikey team is still alive. In reality it seems like they've moved on from the wiikey and dont be supporting it anymore. And communitity-made firmware updates may not be a very good idea. I remember with the psp scene when dark alex's custom firmware sourcecode was leaked people started sliping viruses into it that would brick the psp. Not fun.

i'd wait after the release of the wasabi chip. it's suppose to be a universal wii chip, working on all DMS/D2A/D2B/D2C chipsets. if the chip is solid, and lives up to it's expectation, then that will be the new chip to get.

but give time after the release, unless you want to be one of the first people to test them out.

The wiikey team is pretty slow on the updates, and since the US release just came out 2 days ago, I would wait a little bit. I'm sure they will have an update sooner or later.
