You only use the 360 for power during flashing. So yes, you can flash it back if you want.

dindi...thats what i figured he was doing with it as there wouldnt be any other reason to flash it back once its RROD. but dont bother wasting your time on it before you send it back, just mail it on in. im not sure they even check to see if it actually has RROD from all the 'stories' of people claiming thats what they had when they didnt.

p.s. i should be on LIVe tonight playing some halo3 around 10ish, currently 9.10 here now.

did you backup the bin?

if its physical rrod then no, if it was caused by the firmware flash then ya! you can replace it with the original!

ahh ya?

if your 360 got RROD from a bad flash....you take the drive out...and reflash it with the original firmware....put it back in 360 then the RROD disappears cause the 360 should be fine? as long as he backed up up his original bin he should be fine...how are you children modding these days?~really

I can't recall a bad flash causing the 3 red lights, but I could be mistaken.

A bad flash usually results in 1 red light and an error on screen.

As I have stated above: you only need power from the 360 to flash...so YES it can be flashed back to original.

A bad flash does not cause the 3 red rings (not that I've ever heard or seen any way).

Bottom line: It can be flashed back to original.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "any".

MS has in the past, and present, taken them without the warranty sticker intact or the sticker damaged. They also have not taken them and sent them back in the same state you sent it in. It just depends who is checking them at the repair facility imo.

Your best bet for a repair is a warranty sticker still intact without any noticeable damage to it, how ever you achieve that. ;)

Also, they look at the rear of the console where the slots/holes for the snap tabs are for damage as well, so be aware of that. Any signs of tampering in that area and it could be denied as well. ;)
