How good are the Ritek RiData G05 8X DVD-R (DRD-47-8X-RDIW50N2), compaired to the Ritek Ridata 16X DVD-R DRD-4716-RDIW50N), Looking to get best DVD for the Price.

s_krillin- Well I've used a fair amount of the Ritek G-05's Either as Officedepot 8X Branded Media or Under The Guise of Maxell Media and I've had good experiences with them ! Some people swear by Riteks & some swear at them ! I have'nt really used much of their 16x stuff yet so I would'nt venture a report either way on those !I would think that If your burner is of a very Recent vintage it might perhaps due slightly better with the 16x media as compared to the same media on an older Burner ! Or if your Burner is one of the Benq's , Plextor or certain Lite-on models that learn/adapt t0 different media's Then either may be as good ! I would If I were in your shoes buy A small amount of each and see which ones you and your system like better ! then if you can't tell the difference between the 8 & 16 get the less expensive one ! I know that may sound like a copout but the proof is in pudding as they say and the best way to know for sure is to try some out ! That's my opinion anyways! hope it helped a little & good luck

s_krillin- Your welcome ! I would buy the minimum amount of each to start ! that way if Your drive does well with one and not the other you are'nt stuck with a surplus that you can't use !You might want to contact meritline .com as I believe that they still offer samlper packs of different media including Ritek ! I just checked their website and they have a page or two about samples But I can't see any information on Cost ? Samplers used to be about $ 3.75 ea. { Two disc & a double dvd case) if I remember right? That might be the way to go ! so Maybe Drop them a line & see What's Up ?!!!! good luck !
