Hi there.
I've read a few threads on unlocking iPhones, with conflicting opinions. Im interested in purchasing one from the US and ship it here (Australia), and unlock it to use it on our networks.
Some threads say you cannot unlock the newer iPhones with OTB FW 1.1.4 and 4.6 Bootloaders.
My question is. If i buy a brand new iPhone right now with OTB 1.1.1 - 1.1.4 with or without 4.6BT is it still able to be unlocked? Meaning i can still make calls and stuff?
I went to this site claiming its possible: http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=649
yeah man, ZiPhone 2.5c can unlock, jailbreak, and activate you iphone in about 4 mins. it should be simple, after that just pop in a sim card that already works and you can make calls right away. post back if you need further information, and 1.1.4 which is the latest firmware can be cracked on ZiPhone 2.5c.
yeah man, right out of the box, you just take it out, pop it into your pc and make sure that iTunes detects it, then in ZiPhone 2.5c, just click "do it all" and your finished, just pop in the sim card and make a call. 1.1.4 will work fine with ZiPhone, also, are you new to the iPhone, if you are then post any questions here, i know where some great guides are too.
Thanks alot man.
Yeah im pretty new to iPhones, they havent been released in Australia yet, so im trying to import a few from the US. Just covering my bases to make sure im digging myself a hole ;)
Well that clears up my concerns, now i cant wait to recieve my iphone =D
Same here. I will b buying a 1st gen iphone this friday and am trying to do my homework for the next day or so to learn everything there is about - unlocking/jailbreaking, and using the iphone to its full potential.
