Hi all, I'm trying to stream a .VOB file to my 360 by changing it to a .MPG file and it isn't workin for me!! I'm running XP HOME edition and using DVD Shrink. I know I can stream movies, music, and pics because I've been doing for a while now. I've always streamed .avi files from my CPU to my 360.
Having problems with this though. When they say rename it to a .mpg file, do you mean just right click on the file, go to "rename" and add .mpg to the end of the file?? Is that all?? I've been doing that and the 360 won't recognize it. Also, when I look in the "properties" of the file, under "type of file", it still says its a VOB file. And, when I click the "change" button for which program to open it with, it says the files title is "Shootemup.mpg.vob" for example, is that how it's supposed to look?

Yeah...that's what I usually do and it works fine. But the whole point of changing the VOB file to a .MPG is so we don't have to compress our files to watch them. I would prefer not to compress the file if I didn't have to.
The only other thing i can think of is using a different program like TVersity or ORB which i think will stream any file type to the 360.
Persoanlly i do not stream media to my 360 because the old Xbox 1 (when modded) does a much better job then the 360 does and also upscales what you stream to 720P. And XBMC (Xbox Media Center)on the original Xbox just works fantastic.
I've found that simply changing the extention from .vob to .mpg will cause a playback error on occasion. Download VOBTOMPG and run your .vob through that. It's a real simple program and will convert in less than 3 minutes.

VOBTOMPG??? Can you tell me where to download that. Can't seem to find it anywhere.
