If I purchase the Verbatim DVD+R/DL 8x discs. Can I still copy at 2.4 speed or do I have to record at 8x speed? Also, do I have to have a DVD burner thats capable of 8x speed (even if I record at 2.4 speed)?
thanks

It is recommended by most not to burn DVD/DL at full speed, some say burn at 2.4x. I do it at 1/2 speed.

My question is: if I purchase 8x discs, does the disc have to be recorded at 8x, OR can I record at 2.4 or 4.0 speed?
I noticed when I looked at disc, I seen 2.4x-6x and I seen 8x.

You can record at any speed you want. 8x can be recorded with 1x up to 8x speed. But in general, it is not recommended to record at full disc rated speed.
