Sorry gentlemen if this is a noob question. But I recently modified my PSP by searching and follwing one of the many fantastic guides in here. Thanks Larrylje!!! Now I'm trying to modify my brothers PSP. I checked the version firmware that he has and It's 3.52...not 3.52m33, just 3.52. I downloaded the files as the guided stated. When I go to run the 3.52M33 update, I get the "game could not be started" error. I try to go into recover mode by turning off and holding for 5 secs, then I turn on while holding the "R" button...to no avail. I took the battery out for a few secs. and then place it back, turned on the PSP while holding the "R" button...fails. I've read a couple of threads which states to use the Pandora's battery method. My Brother doesn't want to do this cause he only has one battery. I tell him that he's assed out, but I want to exhaust every measure so that he won't say that I didn't try. Can anyone help? If this is in the wrong thread I apologize.

The recovery menu is not available in the OFW. M33 at the end means its custom firmware (CFW) or hacked firmware. You cannot run 3.52 update because the OFW is not hombrew compatible. You must get a pandora and MMS to downgrade.

1.50 for the Phat is Homebrew compatible.
3.60 for the slim is hombrew compatible.
