I'm new to PSP modding. I currently am running 3.80 firmware and would like to play my backed up UMDs off the memory stick. I searched the forums and read as many guides as possible, but am still confused. All of this stuff is foreign to me and I am trying to figure out what steps I should take first.

From what I gather I need to downgrade to firmware 1.50. People can do this somehow by acquiring and unpatched copy of Lumines (which I sold on ebay years ago) or GTA Liberty city stories (which I sold on ebay last week), or by knowing someone who has custom firmware.

I also need to make a magic memory stick and need to obtain a Datel tool battery to make a "pandora battery"; I have no idea what these things are but are necessary to downgrade and play off my memory stick. I think these will help me if I brick my PSP while intstalling new firmware.

Am I even close to understanding this process? What should I do first? And how do I play games off the memory stick? UMD dumper? Any help is always appreciated.

right if this is a slim all you can get to fw lower than 3.60.

right there are only three ways of doing it.

1) pandoras soft mod find someone with a cfw psp and use that to make the pandoras battery

2) pandoras hard mod no need for a cfw psp but you will need to cut a pin in the battery chip

3) buy a ready made pandoras battery like tha datel tool battery.

both hard mod and soft mod tutorials are there if you click my sig
