Music rewinding is messed up now

My friend recently put roms onto my psp but for some reason when I'm listening to music, I try to skip to a song that is before the song that im currently listening to, instead of it going through the songs, it just rewinds.

example: I hit the rewind button twice to the first songs in the list, but instead it just starts rewinding.

any help?
