Will a new generation chip (D2key, D2CPro) work with a first Generation Wii? I ask because the compatibility seems to be much better than the first gen chips (Wiikey, Wiinja, etc.)

Why don't you try reading the info on the chip? It will tell you if it does or not.

I have researched the chips and nothing specifically states whether they will work or not, I was hoping on input from non sarcastic members of whether they have tried it or know if it can be done. I mean Wii systems weren't "built" to play backups but they were modified to do so.
