Burnt PSone Games Through Linux?

Hey everyone this is my first post in the playstation section. Im not new to the mod scene I have a modded xbox (please no fanboys).

I've just picked up a PS3 recently and I hear one can run yellowdog (linux) and sony even provides the means too (what nice people :]). Before I go through all the hastle of installing it, getting it running and having to worry about bricking my sweet PS3 (40gb) I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to use an emulator in yellowdog for psx, to play... burnt psx games? I wouldnt imagine the YD team has quite harnessed the power to run a ps2 game but I could see psone. Ive heard rumors of snes and what not, but hell my pocket watch could run snes if i put linux on it.

Any Insight? Anyone Tried?
