modbo 4 with ps2 v14 problem

heres what i have,modbo 4 installed in a slim v14 75001 console.
now when i boot machine up it shows matrix screen but will only play original games.
i can enter config screen on startup but not sure what to change.
basicly everything seems fine but wont boot backups.
also in all the install diagrams i've seen i havent seen any gh-040-52 mother boards so i used a gh-040-51 anyone know if theres a difference?

Have you tried the games you burned on another modded ps2 that works? It could just be the media your using.

yeah i used to have an older modded ps2 and the games worked fine.also does anyone know which solder points are for the bios chip?

The wires that goes to alot of exposed copper plates are for the bios. Ifthe ps2 is upside down facing you. The lower left corner is the cd/dvd signal, and above that to the very top is one wire thats the psx point.

Hi fosman did you eventually fix your problem? I did the same as you, I used a gh-040-51 diagram for my 75004 which has a gh-040-52 board in it. When the console starts I see the matrix logo but wont play any backup games, but all my original games still work fine. vcbc: Do you have a diagram of the point you are talking about, I cant find it as you described. :/ Does anyone know where I can find a modbo 4 diagram for the gh-040-52?

Not to worry, I fixed the problem. My lens was dirty, a quick clean sorted it out. Which means (in my case anyway) that it is ok to use the gh-040-51 diagram for the gh-040-52 board. The only problem I had was the 3.3v ic, on the diagram it says to solder on the side facing a whole bank of tiny components. Measure with a meter and you'll find that you can use the other side of it as well ( I got 3.3v - 3.5v ) it will save a headache trying to avoid unnecessary bridging of components.

i have a very simalar problem and i cant find any other relavent threads. i have a mother board # GH-019 V7 and a modbo 4.0. i can get the the config screen and i can get the matrix splash screen at startup. but i just keep getting a red screen saying to use the correctly formated disk. all the original games work fine
