PSP Conundrum...what parts do I need for repair?

Hey all, I have a phat PSP which I got from Japan at launch, its a bit worse for wear with age and I've dropped it a few times on my travels. Recently the R button kept sticking but it miraculasly fixed itself.
Since then when I've been playing games like Syphon Filter which use an Autosave feature my PSP would constantly freeze at the save screen and crash, but games like God Of War which I can save manually were fine.
Basically when playing syphon filter I accidently activated the auto save, it crashed again but this time it won't switch back on.
Unfortunately the Power LED broke a while ago...so I dunno if it even charges. Ive tried taking the battery out, using mains adapter, charging it, hard-booting it, taking the memory stick out everything but still nothing.
Im guessing the R button thing hints to a problem with the cable connecting the power button and R button, I was also thinking of replacing the power circuit board, the thing that concerns me was the autosave crash thing. Could it have been a problem with the motherboard?? I was running 3.40OE by the way.
Any help would be fantastic!
