ok, i have a problem, and the first step is admitting it. I've had a wiikey for months and never installed it, got super mario galaxy from my pre-order when it launched so now my firmware is updated to 3.0 i believe. I finally installed my wiikey last night using the long wire method, made sure that i didn't have anything touching anything it shouldn't (wiikey itself is sitting on double sided tape)closed her back up, started up my wii, popped in SMG and everything was fine... i get home from work today and download the config 1.3 disc, no read (yes i tried both normal size and fixed size) so i found " http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/597460 " and followed instructions, tried everything from gcos of various versions fixed and unfixed sizes, various configs fixed and unfixed, as well as firmware updates fixed and unfixed. My wii is still reading all the owned games fine (i have no burned games completed yet to test) and i'm really at a loss, as far as i could tell i should have been able to get atleast the firmware to work but even that didn't (as well as the recover, no read) Can anyone throw me a bone here?
i had my wii updated to 3.0 when i installed the mod chip and had no problems used a the 1.9 disk then the update to get super mario galaxy to work and had no problems.. you need the 1.9 disk then the update for 1.9
well i've tried 1.9b as well as 1.9g last night and neither worked. if there is an actual "1.9" i can't find it. I'm going to open it back up when i get home from work to see if i can find anything out, hell i might have a loose wire on the chip or something, but i'll post pics
false alarm, i re-soldered my wiikey and all is well in the land of oz, thanks for the prompt help and all that zazz! i'd post pics of my install but unfortunately my camera is blurry when flash is not used (idk) so they wouldn't be anything good
