Okay, I was playing a PSP game on my PSP (older version). I had to get off my bed to go brush my teeth, so i put it into sleep mode and left it on my bed. Somehow when I was getting up, the PSP fell off my bed and hit the ground. Now, whenever i try to turn on my PSP, the power LED flashes for a split second then goes off. Nothing gets displayed on the LCD, no sounds, nothing. I tried using both battery and AC adapter, same thing for both. Figuring maybe I dislodged a connection, i opened my my PSP, and detatched the reattached the LCD, menu bar and other connectors. But it does the same thing. For some reason though, when i detatch the LCD, the power LED stays on, but again no sounds. I also tried it with the momory card in and out of the PSP. If it matters, i had this configuration before this happened
2 GB sandisk card
cfw 3.90 m33-2
custom theme
Sony 2200mAh battery pack
is it possible that u have some how bricked it? i know it seems kinda weird but its the only thing i could think of. either that or a malfunctioning mother board
I have the exact same thing with my friend's PSP which I'm trying to fix. The led flashes and all that. Pandora won't help since if you put the battery and memstick, the light just keeps on flashing.
tr0n0, does your psp motherboard has the IC0003 (or something like that) if you see it through the UMD cover opening?
well i fixed it, it turns out that that fall cracked my LCD. I noticed that when i plugged in the backlight LCD cablle but not the data for the LCD, the PSP turned on, and i could see a faint visible crack in the LCD. Sooo i ordered a new LCD, put it in and the PSP works fine now. It's jsut weird because ive dropped my psp from higher disstances and onto harder surfaces but the LCD was always fine
well, in my case, my friend didn't drop the PSP, but he did said that the screen messed up when he was playing a game and suddenly the console got off. Seems to be the LCD screen got burnt in this case, maybe the guy dropped the PSP but won't say, lol. You're the second guy that says the LCD screen is the solution for this situation. I'll check on and see if my friend can afford replacing the LCD screen. Thanks for your reply, though.
tr0n0, you dropped it before though huh? Perhaps the LCD was on its last set of legs and this last fall was the final nail in the coffin....glad you got it up and running again though! Good job! ;)
