I've got a panasonic dvd rv-31 (region 1) and have been given a dvd from USA which is region 2 (I think!). Does anyone know if I can de-regionalize my dvd player so I can watch my new DVD?

Not sure about the player but you can de-regionlize the Media using the many software apps available for backing up DVD's.. Shrink, DeCrypter and a few others will do that for you.. I also have a RV-31 and it does have issues with DVD+R so be careful which media you use..
