Is it possible to use an external harddrive (with a USB cable) to use PSP to import ISOs and stuff like that?

There is but he's not disclosing the software. You'll have to transfer with a computer.

What exactly do you mean. Just save them on your hard drive.

I've been reading the guides as how to unlock a PSP, pretty most of them required me to use a USB stick to carry necessary things in order to unlock a PSP, also ISOs (games). What I'm asking is that is it possible to use an external harddrive for all those stuff, instead of a USB stick.

lan.st is a dev forum someone has a thread there about a psp hard drive they are creating but no at this point there is no public software to allow you to do this but just to let you know once you have installed cfw on yourpsp you can formatt the mem stick and fill it with what ever you want (thoes great iso's and homebrew) but nothing has to stay on the mem stick for the psp to run also they released a 16 gig ms pro duo this month for 300.00 us

Uh, I'm confused. How come I get a feeling that you don't fully understand what I'm asking here?
An external harddrive is just like a USB stick but much larger in size. You can even format the external harddrive as well.

ok buddy every one here knows what a hard drive is the awnser was no there is no software currently out there to let you do this you would have to write the drivers yourself and build a custom firmware plugin to access it. For that to work, (As has been stated countless times elsewhere,) the PSP would require something called 'USB On-The-Go' or somesuch... Which basically would allow the PSP to act as if it had a USB host controller built-in. Basically USB devices are either clients, or hosts. A computer is a host. The PSP on the other hand, is a CLIENT device.
Now I agree that the PSP itself is essentially a mobile computer, however don't confuse the term 'USB host' with 'computer'. The USB on the PSP was, (Correct me if I'm wrong,) designed to be used as a client device for accessing the memory stick, etc... from a computer, which (usually,) has one or more USB host controller(s).
I have not researched this aspect of the PSP as it is not within my field of experience, so I do not know if this limitation is hardware-based or just not part of the firmware drivers.
Edit: To clarify before anyone reads this, I don't mean to say that sony went to the trouble of developing a USB-host feature and then intentionally disabled it; more likely, they just didn't develop such support, even if the hardware is otherwise has the capabilities for USB-host.
As far as USB info goes, there's the official USB website, which has all the standards available for your reading pleasure; (www.usb.org). You will also find much useful info on wikipedia.

You know that external harddrives and regular harddrives (the harddrive that is inside your PC) are different?
my external harddrive has a USB host controller built-in and it has a USB cable which should connect the PSP.

the psp does not support external hdds (except for a few little tricks...)
you need a memory stick

How does it fit on to the PSP?
The 4Gb Hard Drive fixes tightly and firmly into 2 holes at rear / back of PSP on Right by memory slot compartment. A very small cable connects from side of hard drive into memory slot.
Once attached, the 4GB Hard Drive forms an ergonomic addition to your PSP, sitting comfortably in your hands especially when used in conjunction with the X-2 Battery. As such you should consider the Hard Drive to be a permanent attachment on your PSP, thus maximising the working life of the unit and ensuring that you always have your content with you
lol why not just buy the 4 gig memory card for $40.00

You would need an adapter for the PSP slot to connect a USB cable.
IMO, I rather get a 500gb externel harddrive for $100 than a 8gb stick for $200+
I think that depends, though. If you travel and doesn't usually play at home, then using a memory stick is necessary.
