Wiikey 1.9b Recovery Problems

I originally had my wiikey updated to 1.9g to play mario galaxy. I used 1.9b update trick to play SSBB. Now that I'm done with that I try to use the 1.9b recovery disc (burned at 2x speed, verbatim) by leaving it on the main menu for 5 minutes turn off then turn back on, but the wii still cannot read my backup games. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
