I just recently burned a full movie on a DVD+R DL.
First I made an ISO of the movie with DVD Shrink, then I later used DVD Shrink again to burn the ISO.
Burning was successful, but when I tried playing it on my Sanyo DVD-SL40 player (yes I know its pretty old), or Xbox 360 Elite, it wouldn't play. The 360 recognized it as a dvd though. I thought for sure that it would work on my computer that I burnt it with, it recognizes it as a dvd, but still no luck.
My question is, if there is a 'popular' recommended software (like dvd shrink) that I can use to burn the ISO on a DVD+R DL, and that will the DVD be compatible with 'most' players?
Or do I need to change a setting in DVD shrink?
The DVD that I used was a Memorex DVD+R DL 8x, even if Memorex isn't that good I need to make this work, because I just bought a pack of 50.
Any input or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
ps. yes I searched the forums and guides but couldn't find a solution to what I was looking for.
A bit off topic, I was also wondering if the Xbox 360 Elite is capable of playing DVD+R DL, I know that it plays DVD+R though.

the memorex DL media will code out as Ritek which is ok media. Buy Verbatim DVD+R DL next time there the best.
what burning engine did you use to burn with after using dvd shrink? imgburn is the most recommeded to burn DL media also try booktyping them to DVD-ROM is your burner supports it and keep your burn speed at 2.4x to 4x max!
also make sure your burning has to most up to date firmware, check here

ImgBurn also allows you to "build" ( Mode = Build )the ISO on the fly from the ripped files on your HDD then burn to DL disk all in one step. It also suggests the best place for the layer break. With the cost of DLs on the way down it's almost the best way to go for back-ups these days (IMO).

Hi, and thanks for your help guys.
Ok I burned the ISO with ImgBurn and it still doesn't work. I tried setting book type to DVD-ROM, but wouldn't let me (Reason: NO Additional Sense Information). Near the begining of the burning process a message came up saying:
"Optimal L1 Data Zone Start LBA: None Found! (VTS_06)
This image has not been mastered correctly for burning onto a double layer (OTP Track Path) disc.
None of the cells meet the 'DVD-Video specification' criteria for a potential layer break position." So I ignored that message.
Then when it was near finished burning, and 50% in the verifying process a message saying "Interpritation: Check Condition" or something like "Unrecovered Read error" came up.
I had also successfully updated my firmware for my Lite-On SOHW-822S 8X DVD+R/RW DL Drive from here:

Could the problem be because I made the ISO with DVD Shrink?
And if I was to make the ISO with IMGBurn, would I be able to edit it like in DVD Shrink, for example remove french, spanish audio, ect.?

Ok I'm guessing its my drive that is the problem, because I tried making a ISO with DVD shrink, then burning it with ImgBurn on my friends computer, and it works perfectly fine. Little dissapointed, cause I was hoping that it would work on my computer.
