Well I just got a new slim psp so i decided to bring out my old broken psp.

This is a old fat psp with version 1.00 firmware that I downgraded to a loooooong time ago.

The battery is listed as external in the system settings, the battery works in my slim and is at 100%.

My battery wont charge in my old psp, but charges and works fine in my current psp.

So my problem is that I cannont upgrade this psp out of the 1.0 firmware because the battery needs tobe atleast 75% (which it actually is) but my psp only detects the battery as external.

Any help is appreciated.

If you need any additional information just post what you need and ill reply asap.

ok thank you

but even with a fully charged battery it still states that it is running off of external power

will a new power board fix that issues also?

or is that firmware related

It should cause the battery in your slim is telling it what level it's at. And another sign is that the power board isn't recognizing it's there as a battery. I repair these all the time.
