k to start of i had 3.71m33-4, then i accidentally formated flash1. I copy and saved a back up of flash1 before hand to my hd in case these stuff happens, but still my psp was acting weird. So i downgraded to 1.5 using the downgrader without pandora's battery only for 3.71 m33(i didnt know if it would work for 3.71m33-4, but still tried it)so i got up to 1.5, and when i was using 3.52 m33 update, it freezes on "creating flash1 directories..." part.
right again iv seen this a lot with flash1 problems i dont knwo if this will cure it but try this
(it need pandoras battery i think) but you should have left the flash1 once youd formatted it as formating just delets the stored data like the time and that by replacing it you may have messed up some of the stuff in the flash1
if this guide doesnt work try updating to another cfw and see if that fixes the problem but id say going down to 1.5 was a bad move as you dont get a recovery mode to format the flash1 but im sure there may be a program out there that will do it for 1.5
Quote:This is a tutorial I am making to recover those unrecoverable bricks on psp's you get. Unrecoverable bricks are like when you use pandora battery on psp and it freezes on flash0. That means you corrupted your flash1 or messed up your nand. I am not using screen shots because I can't take screenshots when I use pandora. Lets get started!
* Credit goes to cory149 for developing this awesome app, publicly releasing it and improving it from time to time
What is Nandtool ?
- It was originally known as UPNandtool, a tool used by hardware unbrickers to flash nand data from UP chip (or homemade nand flashers) to the bricked unit's nand flash. The application underwent a lot of modifications for the last few months, the author introducing new features on every iteration and renamed the tool to NANDTool (since the tool no longer need the UP chip in order to work). This was developed for the phat model but it's present form supports both phat and slim models.
6. Get the nandtool_03_beta1_nousb.elf from the zip file you downloaded.
7. Rename the nandtool_03_beta1_nousb.elf to backup.elf.
8. Overwrite the backup.elf from the kd folder in your memory stick to the one you just created.
9. Boot the psp with pandora battery and magic memory stick.
10. Pick the option where says press SQUARE to dump the nand.
11. After that a letter should a appear saying warning and all the stuff.
12. press 0.
13. go down where it says other and press x.
14. Then go where it says repartition 1flash.
15. Then press TRIANGLE and let it do it's thing.
16. It is going to reformat your flash it takes a while so don't get scared if it takes a little long on the flash1 or flash0.
17. Reboot psp with pandora battery and memory stick and hit X to install 3.71 m33 (If you are using DC3) or 3.80 m33 (if you are using DC4).
18. After it is finish you should have a working psp now with custom firmware.
19. Go to cory's tool once more by hitting SQUARE.
20. Go to Dump From Nand and let it do it's thing.
21. After that connect your memory stick from psp or memory card reader.
22. There should be a new folder called nand dump backups or something like that. back up that folder to your pc. This is just so this happens to you again you recover your psp by writing your nand again.
23. Your done! you may erase your nand backup from magic memory stick (after you backup)
Enjoy your fixed psp. If this tutorial helped please give +REP. Have Fun
thnx for your reply, but i fixed with the help of like 5 other sites lol, the problem was after i formated my flash1, every time i go to "themes" in xmb menu my psp freezes too. So i had to downgrade to 1.5, then upgrade to 3.52 m33 but i had to restart when it was still on "creating flash1 directories..."
but everything is working good now
i didn't need nandtool at all,or pandoras battery.
We'll for the people who wants to know how i did it:
1: upgrade to 3.52 m33 cfw
2: found out my flash1 was corrupt so downloaded "flash1 formatter v2" by t0c.
3: downloaded 3.52 m33 recovery pack, put into mx0:psp\game\recovery
4: inserted eboot from flash1 formatter to recovery folder
5: go to recovery menu (Holding R while starting up)
6: choose load recovery eboot, choose clean format (hold L, press x)
7: installed 3.52 m33 cfw again, now it doesn't freeze in creating flash1.
