how can i tune my dvd drive lens?

sometimes by lens tunning (threw a screw or something) may fix the reading problem, but how can i do it? like when they put a new lens how does they know that the tunning is good? (sorry for my english but i cannot find any word else than tuning)

Do a google search for 360 pot Calibration Or Adjustment,Follow the tutorial and make sure you don't crank it to much cause you will burn it out(laser),also make sure you have a digital multimeter as that is the best way to make sure when enough is,other than that it is pretty easy to do.It might be just as easy to just spend the money for a new laser,but then again you should check your settings on a new laser also before you stick it in.Good Luck
