Please help, i have read many of the searchs on psp's freezing but mine appears to be different. Let me first explain the cfw history on my psp.
I had cfw 3.40 oe-a (i believe) running just fine with no issues at all. I had aquried a new new iso that would not load so i figured i would try and upgrade my fw to see if that would help. I was able to upgrade to i think 3.52 m33 and needed to get revision 2 installed in order to jump to 3.71 m33. While trying to upgrade to 3.52 m33-2 i bricked my psp.
This is where the fun began, i knew i had to now create a pandora battery and magic memory stick. I read many guides and was able to create both the pb and mms which once ran i was recovered to 1.50 and unbricked. I then proceed to upgrade to 3.40 oe-a again figuring i would just stay there.
Ever since then my psp has been freezing while playing mgspo iso with my friends via adhoc+. At this point it would freeze typically the game but did not shut down, i could press the Home button and exit the game. I have in trying to correct the problem upgraded to 3.90 m33-2. This did not help at all, if anything i would say it made things worse in that it freezes and shuts down more often to the point where i really couldn't play it.
So over the past few days i found a great guide on this site to create a new pandora battery and magic memory stick that allowed me to install 3.71, 3.80, 3.90. I figured i would revert back to 3.71 m33-4 sonce my friend was running it woht no problem.
Well i still have the same issue with it freezing and shutting down. Sometimes it happens 1 minute into the game and other times it will let me play 2 or 3 adhoc games before happing, BUT it will happen.
Is my psp broken or is there a patch or update i can run to fix the problem? I belive i have tried just about every combo to cpu and umd/iso speed settings and verified that all the advanced settings where disabled in Recovery mode.
Please help and let me know what info you need to help in troubleshooting.
First you should make the UMD ISO MODE to be Sony NP9660
if that doesnt help than im sure this is happening because u updated to M33 from 3.40 OE-A its been know that doing that makes the PSP buggy...its happened to me before...my ISO's used to run very slow.
Until i updated from 1.50 directly to 3.52 M33
Here is a recovery that you can use to recover back to 1.50 and Here is a guide to update to 3.52 M33-4 includes all files needed to do it straight from 1.50...hope this helps...;)
Thanks for the quick reponse. I have tried the UMD ISO MODE to be Sony NP9660 with the same issue.
I have used this guide "GUIDE: Universal Unbricker V3 Using FAT 1.50 or FAT/SLIM custom firmware PSP" from this site to start over. Would this do the same as you recommend? It runs the pandora battery and puts 3.71 M33-2 cfw on the psp.
Do you think i should revert to 1.50 and go forward or is this what the guide above essentially does? Let me know, and again thanks for all the help.
Also to note, it soes seem to take a while to load an ISO since all this has started happening. If i go Game in the xmb and select an iso game it goes to the PSP splash screen for at least 10 - 15 seconds before doing anything, is this the same thing that happened to you?
im not sure of what used to happen to mine...but if you are making the unniversal unbricker with a custom themed PSP then its gonna make a corrupt memory stick
but just try my guides that i gave u and see if it fixes it
also the speed might be another thing...and also the ISO might be messed up or..your hardware is messed up and makes the psp slow
Thanks again for your help, i have run into yet another problem which may help diagnose my issue. I tried using the links and downloads you linked to and while trying to use the RECOVERY to 1.50 it bricks my psp. Here is the exact messages i see when i run the recovery through the recovery console:

Make a magic memory stick called Pandoras Gui. Get it HERE. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the download. Always works for me. Hope it does the same. You can make this stick with a cardreader.
