A new custom firmware has recently surfaced and - guess what? - it isn't from Dark_AleX. Developer Yellow_Rain dropped by the QJ.NET PSP Development forum and informed us that an new custom firmware based on the 3.90 M33 build can now be downloaded and installed into your PlayStation Portable.
This unofficial patch based on the most recent custom firmware released by Dark_AleX, contains a reversed and updated popcorn.prx. Also, a hex-edited vshctrl.prx and GetVersion opcode were both updated in this new build.
The developer has tested and confirmed that CFW 3.93 M33 works for both the classic and Slim PSP. Please take note that it only flashes the changed modules, so make sure that you have CFW 3.90 M33-2 installed on your handheld before running the patch.
To install this new application into your PSP, just copy all the contents of the archive into the ms_root directory of your memory stick. Afterwards, place the 393.PBP file in the root directory of your memory stick. You can then run 3.93 M33 from your XMB after copying all the required files." -QJ.net

Useless. People are already reporting bugs, such as PSX games not working. Plus, there are absolutely no new diehard features, just the usual Sony popstation keep-up. They gotta grow some balls and come up with something huge that doesn't require 2 add-ons (Skype anybody? No...Furikup). So, give us even a super slimmed-down version of MGS:4 as a PSP/PS3 exclusive, or at the VERY least, some hardcore remoteplay features in the future, more than just NFS rear-view bullcrap.If they wanna get my attention, they need PS3 games on the fly. I don't know if they can do it, and doubt if it's even possible, but WiFi GTA4 would kick ass.

lm install this cfw 3.93, but cannot run some UMD video iso can't find the right option to play umd video iso on vsh recovery menu, anyone know , pls help
guys wake up!!!!!!!!!!!! m33 is a trademark of dark alex's team so the 3.93 firmware is NOT dark alex's firmware so i don't suggest it. for the eboots: you can run them under cf 3.90M33 with popsloader plugin. you can find it at dark alex's homepage and put it to your root of your memory stick. after this you have to go to the recovery menu and choose the plugin. lastly go to the eboot you want to load and when you click it hold down th R+ button so a screen will appear with some choises, there i suggest you to choose 3.80 and the games should load correctly. did this helped?
Just in case you guys don't understand, this thread is about a patch that merely gives 3.90 m33 some 3.93 features. It is not about the custom firmware 3.93 look at the original post date of this thread (March 20, 2008), a month before CFW 3.93 Came out(Apr 26, 2008).
