DTS (Digital Theater System) is a audio format similar to Dolby Digital (AC3) and is common on DVD's. It is often regarded as being superior to AC3. This filter (AC3Filter) is capable of decoding AC3, DTS and mpeg audio. It has extensive mixing options and as the article states, it rivals commercial software. This will allow you to decode full 5.1 channel audio tracks via direct show through any media player.
