Thanks. I have another question. I unscrewed it and am trying to take the top off but the bottom seems hard to remove. Should I pull it open or is that a bad idea? I was watching a video on this and the person took the top off with ease.

It does hang up a bit but it will come off with a little wiggling. Everything is cheap plastic so don't apply too much pressure. Make sure you pull it off from the back left side. If you're looking at the front of the PS2, lift from the left and rear.
