Hi,
Before I begin, I just want to say that I searched for my problem on google and youtube. I opened my playstation twice and did the steps that have been mentioned. Yet, nothing has been solved.

I've been having my ps2 for about 3 years. I bought it used so its the first/second model. I want to sell it but I figured that it is not reading all of the games. It is reading all the DVDs that are not blue back. Thus, it is reading the white dvds & purple dvds, but not the blue ones.
I cleaned the lense with the alcohol method but it didn't work. I even "played" with the white ring that is on the back but it didn't work because the ring always went back to its original position after I insert a game. I then read that the "white ring" trick doesn't work with model 1 and 2.

So what can I do now to fix the problem? I cleaned the laser, I used an air compressor to remove the dusts and I adjusted the white ring, although none have solved the problem.
Again, all games work perfectly except the blue-back DVDs, they work on a ratio of like 1:6
