I tried to backup this movie that I just purchased: "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." Well, I was able to ripped it with DVD-Decrypter succesfully, but when I tried to open it up with DVDShrink, after a few seconds that it is opening those files, DVDShrink GETS DESCONECTED (turn off, the program is closed by itself or better said, I guess by some miniprogram embeded in the files on the movie itself probably). I tried to process it with FIXVTS, and afterwards again with DVDShrink, sadly it doesn't make any difference.
When I tried to use DVDfab, this program is able to process the movie, BUT IT DOES NOT SHRINK IT AT ALL. After the process, the product is the same as the original.
I suspect that this is other form of "anticopy" program that the industry had devised to avoid what we want (to back up our movies).
I wonder if anybody knows what to do in this case to bypass and defeat this latest effort of that industry?
I'll be very thankfull for any help in this regard.
Cheers.
dvdfab decrypter should handle it fine, are you using the latest version?
the right process is to use dvdfab decrypter to rip then transcode with dvd shrink (you may need fixvts first before transcoding with dvd shrink) then use imgburn to burn. or use anydvd behind dvd shrink. use this thread for he correct process
