I've been doing some reading and I'm not clear on all the ins & outs of this subject despite doing this a bunch of times (and just realizing now maybe I am doing things wrong).

In the past I've combined mutliple video files, some AVIs, some WMVs, some MPGs, all onto one DVD, using ConvertXtoDVD 2.x to build the DVD structure. This makes each file a new "title" and index point for playback. Sometimes I've also used DVDFLICK too. I've learned recently up here that DVDFLICK, or new version3 of ConvertX, or other programs (?) can "merge" each file together to keep them as the one title rather than separate "titles".

Regardless of separate titles or merging into one title - my question concerns audio sync problems. In the past, sometimes everything works fine, other times I notice audio sync problems playing back a DVD (but I never went back and checked & assumed that the problems were in the original files).

But now reading more about this stuff I think (if I understand this right??) that unless the files are all the same "something or other" (framerate? speed? quality? i dunno) then you will get sync errors if you put them on the same DVD structure, depending on what software or settings you are using??? Or that you can avoid this if you do "x, y, and z" etc?

Can anyone explain this to me - what should I do with multiple files so as to avoid getting sync problems if putting them together on the same DVD, ie: how to do it best to avoid any sync issues? I am not even sure but I could be doing it right already and this may be a nonissue, or not. I have a bunch of files now of varying types and lengths that I want to burn to one DVD (depending on what fits). What is the best approach to take to avoid sync issues?? I want each file to have a separate index point for playback, whether that is as a separate title or a separate chapter, but other than as separate titles I don't know how to do that. Maybe it is better to merge then make chapter point? Or not? I am confused (as usual).

THANKS from a relative newbie.
