Hi, I got this error when trying to burn a ISO image file with Imgburn, optimum power calibration failed reason no additional sence information, I have just tried it again only this time its dead, when I press the button the drawer won't even open, I can see the drive in my computer and device manager the drive is only 8 months old, I have the latest firmware for both dvd-rw and dvd-rom drives

Check cables & if they are OK it looks like a warranty claim, unless you voided it by flashing the firmware.

I got the drive to work by flashing the drive again, butv it still won't let me burn a iso file

Have you tried with other software e.g. Nero?

Sounds like it's broken. At 8 months old it should be under warranty and you should claim a refund. Sometimes if you flash the firmware it can make the warranty invalid. If that is true in your case, you will have to buy a new drive.

I got the firmware update from samsung its samsung drive,

Official Samsung update should be OK. I was thinking of region free patched firmwares which break warranty.
