Hi, I'm kind of in the same boat as the original thread started. I have a standard slim PSP v3.80. I'm waiting for my battery to get here and I need to go out and buy a new memory stick. Before I attempt this I have a few questions I was hoping you could answer.
Is this the program I need to downgrade my PSP and Upgrade it to the 3.80m33? http://pspupdates.qj.net/Despertar-del-C...g/49/aid/112081
Or do I need to place any other programs on the memory card?
Which brings me to my second question, I just barely purchased my PSP so I haven't had a chance to fool around with it that much. What I'm wondering is if a USB cable is all that's required to place files on the memory stick? Or do I need to go out and get a card reader (I have one but no duo slot sadly)? Also when I finally get the PSP connected to the computer do I just drag and drop the file? Or is there a special way to install the file on the card to get the PSP to recognize it?
Alright...I guess that's more than a couple questions. Sorry about that, I've searched but I'm at the point where I feel I need to ask a question. Sorry if it's been asked a million times before (know what that's like on the 360 board).

Hi
Use THIS guide to create your MMS. You will need to connect your PSP to the PC using a USB cable. Just follow the instructions in the guide and you will be fine.
Hope that helps

Thanks a lot. Didn't realize unbricking and downgrading were the same thing (on a 360 a bricked console means it's shot).
One last tiny question, when it says to disable USB can you just unplug it? Or do you have to go to the setting every time and enable/disable?
Thanks again.

Best practice is to enable/disable.

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully when my materials arrive I won't have to come back and ask for more.
Cheers.

Well apparently my MMS is made, I've tried twice and I still get nothing when putting in the battery.
I think the problem is during the last step I'm not getting this option.

Instead what looks like a credit screen comes up saying hit any key to enter.
Could this be a Vista issue?

For the record it was Vista. Used XP and I'm at the menu right now.

Haha I was doing so well. If anyone could oblige me I have a question. I was installing IRShell and to make a long story short I deleted the PSP folder on my memory stick. I thought I had everything backed up on my PC before I did this, but I FUBAR'D and apparently didn't. I reformatted the memory stick, got IRShell up and running (still gotta tweak it). If I ever want to upgrade my CFW to say 3.90m33-5 (I don't want to now, but for future updates and the such) can I just use the guide linked above to recreate the MMS and flash like I did before? Or will I have to do a different procedure. I no longer have the MUX2.0 installer (or whatever the name was) under the memory stick, because like I said I reformatted. Thanks again for the help.

You totally hijacked this thread, Nser. If you end up wanting to upgrade to a newer version of m33 you should take a look at the 1-stop guide to m33 firmware:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/616311
The 1-stop download includes a copy of MUX 2.0
