A friend of mine is thinking about letting people know he can flash the drives. He has been successful with no issues, but I didn't know when he had asked me, is it just stupid to post up on craigslist that you can flash? Or is it safe to do so, without fear of any repercussions, for saying that you can flash, but only to be used for legit games, so on and so on? I really wasn't sure on what his best route would be. Just looking for opinions. thanks
Just say something like you can upgrade the 360 DVD firmware and then people will know what you're talking about. Then put something like, you do this so people can play backups of games they OWN, which is legal. You're fine if you do that. Don't sell copied games because you'll get nailed, cops pose as customers and will ask Craigslist modders if they sell copied games and nail you. I would flash the persons drive with them there because I know I would not give a stranger my 360, with him saying he will give back in a day or two. It would be his word against yours if you accused him of stealing it. Most people won't trust you to leave it with them, unless a friend.
I have been on craigslist for a long time and have had many people come to me for modding. There is nothing wrong with modding a system. The only way to get into trobule is by offering burned games. But as for the modding na man its a great source of extra cash. I charge $50 for flashing and offer upgrades for free.
I was reading this ,And I am wondering is it Legal to offer this service in newspaper, phonebook,a store?I was seriosly thinking about calling a lawyer about this,Like open a mod store as-in cases,skins,firmwares,etc...But in No way Games of any sort or even how to get them besides a store.I think if this could be legal tho I think the gameing companys would find a way to shut you down.Don't really know thats why I'm asking.Any thought's on this anyone?
I have a friend who has a modding business (on the web, advertised a lot) in Washington, and he said he spoken with microsoft and they said hes ok, as long as he doesn't sell burned games of course.
I think I am gonna try this out,I live out in the sticks (sorta)in i could use some extra cash.I guess next I have to find out if this will violate my workcomp,if they find out i'm makeing money they might get mad,but i guess it will be all undertable. So who knows
