Converting a iDVD vob to a mpeg

I am trying to convert a VOB file that was authored using iDVD to a MPEG or QT so I can reedit it in FCP. After reading all of the great post I figured it would be realativly easy.

Since I can already see the VOB on the disk I thought I wouldn?t even need to use DVDExtractor 0.9b. But I have tried ripping it with and with out it and the final files that I get (a .vob) will not work in MacMPEG2Decoder b3, bbDEMUX 1.1 or Media Cleaner.

I am using OS 10.2.8, have the new MPEG-2 component but not QT pro. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?
