Yes. Although the newest update will eventually break the Trucha Signer and Freeloader. They will still work for now, but once the wii starts using IOS37, they won't work anymore.
Look here for more information: http://wiibrew.org/index.php?title=IOS37

Do the source means you will not be able to play games that are trucha signed(As in, you modified the iso) with the latest IOS.. firmware?
Will it brick your wii if you insert the trucha signed game disc?

No it won't brick you Wii. It will do exactly what putting in a modified .iso that you didn't resign would do. Which is just not load. For most, everything will be fine, but if you use any program that requires key.bin those disks will likely stop working. So you might want to stay away from pre-wiiscrubbed games.

Then it is just a coincidence that Datel just donated $1000 to Wiibrew (wouldn't happen to be hoping they find something new to exploit commercially i wonder).
Also how do you know it works with the new firmware? No games or the Wii menu currently use it. The Wii stores multiple firmwares to stay backwards compatible with older games, until a Menu comes out that uses IOS37 it is not possible to make the statement you did. When the people involved in finding the signing bug come out and say that the update will fix it, It is hard to not trust them.
As for the question about if WBB will still work, I'd like to find this out as well. I know the update information is stored on a separate partition then the game files, but I always wondered why WBB didn't need a key. Could be why the wiikey team is putting the update block right on the chip, with 1.9s.

Brickblocker and Regionfrii stuff should still work because those don't require key.bin. They simply delete the partition from the disc but don't add any code to the disc (at least that's what it sounds like to me).
It is also thought that WiiScrubber may still work but I guess we won't know until the change takes place.

I went back and looked at disks that I had Brickblocked and compared them, and your right. It removed the first partition and replaced it with one that was probably taken from a very early game since it has IOS9 on it, basically one old enough that no one would have a Wii with something lower. So that should be officially signed I guess.
I hope they are right about WiiScrubber though, I use it all the time to keep backup backed up on a harddrive as well without taking so much space. I guess I just can't get my head around filling all the empty space with 1's working and not being able to do something like change a single 1 to a 0 in the main.dol for the drive check.

LOL - you haven't even read everything properly or you wouldn't just blurt out gratuitous condemnation of information from the most respected of sources. They didn't say freeloader is killed - they said it's a possibility in the future and if they decide to kill it you better hope that these guys who are talking "bull" have found a way to counter it eh ;)

Thank you i do not buy this at all.
I have a wii freeloader running the japanese version of bleach and have had no issues with it being blocked and also on another note you did know that datel sued nintendo and microsoft for blocking there third party devices from there console and won so now they have a legal development kit from nintendo and from microsoft to build there third party devices.
so we haven't seen anything yet from datel.

For all those 'still running fine'
THE UPDATE HAS NO AFFECT AT THIS POINT!!!!
Had the cap that because these exact types of threads have been popping up on other forums and had finally silenced ;)
Yes it WILL break trucha (according to the people that have tested it), but NOT yet.
It will NOT affect your mod chips.
It will NOT affect the twightlight princess hack.

I hear ya with the caps thing m8... It's in black and white and yet some ppl still don't "buy it" cos they haven't taken the time to read that it hasn't actually happened yet and no-one has actually claimed it will happen.

Question,
If the IOS37 story is true.
That means for those who used "WII Duplicated Channel Remover", could possibly get Wii bricked upon new upgrade in the future.
Because what the "Remover" does is to modify the channel data and then resign it. that makes all the channel as "homebrewed channels". And according to .
Once the system menu is updated to use IOS37, if you have any installed homebrew channels then the Wii will refuse to boot.
I assume "REFUSE TO BOOT" means a "FULL BRICK"

Nice LOL - there is nowhere I've read that says the dupe Channels become re-signed homebrew channels cos if that was the case the developer of the remover would have made them just that so they could easily be deleted. They are in fact simply hidden with all channel data removed from the TDM and the version number is changed. Also the developer of the remover says removal is reversible - in other words, all the metadata replaced and the version numbers corrected.
Secondly - you posted the link but I don't think you read it or at least not at the time you posted cos it's been changed...
"As of March 22nd, no software uses IOS37 -- the System Menu currently uses IOS30. An updated System Menu will likely use the new IOS37."
"As it stands, current system menu running under IOS37 with a homebrew channel installed does not cause bricking. Marcan 18:10, 26 March 2008 (PDT)"
...from the page you gave the link to here
